The second studio album from King Crimson, released in 1970, the much maligned and often misunderstood In The Wake Of The Poseidon grew out of a band in turmoil with members of the initial lineup leaving; Greg Lake, Ian McDonald and Michael Giles causing instabilty to say the least as Robert Fripp and Peter Sinfield had an album as King Crimson but no band to play it live on tour. The album has since become well received in King Crimsons discography with some critics preferring it to the now iconic debut 'In The Court Of The Crimson King'.
