Originally released in 1991, it became their most successful album to date spawning one of their most iconic singles 'Losing My Religion', being an unlikely worldwide smash hit. It also included another chart-topping hit 'Shiny Happy People' which helped catapult R.E.M. into one of the biggest bands in the world. These two giant singles don't really encapsulate the eclectic taste of an album which is much more than the sum of it's parts.
