To mark its 15th anniversary, this unique collaboration between The Orb and David Gilmour is once again available on vinyl and pressed on pearlescent metallic sunrise coloured wax.
Metallic Spheres came about after a remix project by The Orb, Youth and David Gilmour expanded into and album-length entity and the trio worked up a sonic mixture in a range of styles. Designed to be heard in two parts - 'Metallic Side' (LP1) and 'Spheres Side' (LP2) - the record utilizes David Gilmour's discernible electric guitar and lap steel guitar, Alex Paterson's sound manipulation, keyboards and turntables, and Youth's bass guitar and keyboards.
